Sree Padmavathi Venkateswara Foundation (SreePVF), Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, is a registered private Foundation working since 2014 for betterment of humanity through various activities including awards, donations and grants in different disciplines of life sciences. The major objective of their research grants is to provide “bench-to-bedside” funding to enable benefits of biomedical research reaching large sections of the population.
As in the previous two years, on behalf of The Sree Padmavathi Venkateswara Foundation (SreePVF), Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, the scientific advisory committee has issued a call for applications for their Biomedical Translational Research Grant with a budget of up to Rs 3 crores for 3 years. The first grant in this scheme was awarded in 2019-20 to Prof Vidita Vaidya, TIFR Mumbai and her collaborators and the second grant was awarded in 2020-21 to Prof Vandana Sharma, IIT Hyderabad and her collaborators. Prof Vaidya is studying mitochondrial metabolic modulations due to early life stress and ways to revert the same. Prof Vandana Sharma is developing a 3D-Imaging-based Vein Intrusion Guide System for Pediatric and Geriatric Healthcare. With a vision for betterment of humanity, SreePVF has constituted Sree Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Research Grants in 2019, to award one three-year research grant (of up to Rs. 3 crores) each year, for individuals and groups engaged in "bench to bedside" translational research. A Committee of eminent scientists have been constituted to help the Foundation in reviewing the applications. | |
